Messages vs nicknames
Chat is generous. A nickname is not. Test in a private server. Markdown backticks will wrap monospace in a code span — sometimes desirable, sometimes not.
Use cases
Announcement banners, clan tags in a message, and a profile “About me” line.
Common mistakes
Putting combining glitch text in a channel name. Using regional-indicator letters that Discord may treat as flags.
Tips
If you need everyone to ping you, keep the pingable name in standard Latin.

Clipboard API first, a hidden textarea fallback second. Permission prompts are the browser’s, not ours.

Dividers are Unicode too. Long boxes wrap. Short banners survive.
